CLOSE TO ALLOA

Start with the Ochils.

The hills give this part of Scotland its backdrop. Choose a walk that suits your group, or explore the wooded gorge at Dollar Glen.

For a day in town, Alloa Tower offers a very different view of local history.

CASTLES & HISTORY

A day in Stirling.

Build a day around Stirling Castle, with time to explore the city’s historic streets. The National Wallace Monument is another option for a separate visit, overlooking the surrounding landscape.

Check admission, opening times and access arrangements before travelling. Choose one main visit and leave room in the day for food and prayer.

A LONGER DAY OUT

By the loch.

Loch Lomond and the Trossachs make a full day’s outing from Alloa. Choose your destination before setting out, rather than trying to see the whole national park.

Balmaha is one option on the eastern shore, with a visitor centre and access to Conic Hill. Check the route and conditions if you plan to walk.
